Turn It Around: Central Asia
Turn It Around: Central Asia TURN IT AROUND! https://turnitaroundcards.org/ is an expanding toolkit of cards that aims to reimagine the education response to the current climate and ecological emergencies. The toolkit consists of sets of cards designed by youth and school and university students that convey the concerns of young people through original art and text. The Turn it Around cards provide a rich resource of material for teaching and talking about climate change, demonstrating the hopes and expectations of young people in relation to climate change curriculum content and priorities for national education policy. The Central Asia Turn-it-Around (TIA) Climate-Card Deck is a project by CAPS Unlock and the Central Asian Alliance for Climate Education (CEfCA). Flashcards for Education Futures” is a continuing project by youth to build a radical curriculum for educators, policymakers, and politicians. Your submission of original artwork and/or writing will help to envision an education for a just transition to a more sustainable world. Your artwork and/or written response to the prompts will be included in this online repository of flashcards, to be used in workshops, classrooms, and decision making spaces around the world. Artwork submitted must be a JPEG, and should be at least 2800 x 3500 pixels (portrait orientation), 300 DPI. Writing: Submit a short text (150 words max) in English, French, or Spanish – that responds to ANY ONE of the following prompts! (Or write your own short text that describes a vision for the future of education). Your response will help teach today’s decision-makers some basic lessons about building a just future – make yourself heard!
